Valentine's Day Reading...
A message from the Divine Feminine… Finding love through romancing yourself!
Dear Seeker of Petals and Reveries! 💛
Good morning, or evening! It is a lovely cool and overcast morning here which makes a nice respite from the humidity. I personally love the autumn and spring seasons. I am definitely not a fan of extreme heat or cold, but I am grateful that our winters are mild, and warm enough to be able to sit outside in the sun, and still get quite warm! But enough of my ramblings on the weather! Today I am writing of self-love. Valentine’s Day can be a difficult day for many so I wanted to send you a message from the queen of love, the radiant and luminous Queen herself, the Divine Feminine. As I head into the rest of the letter, I will leave you to reflect for a moment on the little verse below from last time. It is perfect for today!
Your heart is a garden—tend it well, and it will bloom with love in every season.🌹
The Rose Temple
I originally started drafting a different prompt for you to use, but this morning I decided to ask for guidance from the Divine Feminine, and what message She would like to give. You can use this prompt yourself if you wish to receive a more personal message suited to where you are on your journey, but I will also include the original prompt I had in mind too. Use all or none, whatever your soul nudges you to do. We have also just had a full moon. I incorporated that energy into the tarot prompt as the full moon beckons us to release what is no longer serving us; and I feel the energy of the full moon is still potent enough to do a releasing ritual.
Onto today’s love letter!
“What negative thoughts or feelings can be released to create space for more self-love?”
Judgement, 9 of Cups
The Hanged Man, 5 of Pentacles & 2 of Pentacles
Ace of Cups, Justice and 9 of Cups
With Judgement, the first thing that struck me was the shedding of an old self—casting off outdated ways of thinking, outdated ways of being. A perfect theme for the full moon, wouldn’t you say? The call to rise is unmistakable, beckoning you toward renewal, toward stepping into the self you were always meant to be.
In the 3 of Cups, my eyes were drawn to the ballerina at the forefront. Front and centre—was the message I heard. Not in a selfish way though—perhaps in a way that asks you to embrace a little more self-consideration. It’s time to prioritise your own needs, to stop pouring endlessly into others’ tea cups while neglecting to fill your own cup. After all, an empty teapot cannot serve. Loving yourself is not indulgence; it is nourishment. There is nothing wrong with loving yourself! In fact, by doing so, you affirm your worth. External love, as beautiful as it may be, is impermanent—like moonlight on water. Just as all things are impermanent. But the love you cultivate within? That is eternal. That is the wellspring from which all else flows.
And what of The Hanged Man and the 5 of Pentacles, seated below Judgement? Another confirmation, whispering the same truth: let go of those patterns that keep you bound in scarcity. Shift from lack to abundance—and this is done through gratitude. See how the story unfolds… If you look at the cards, particularly the 5 of Pentacles leading to the 2 of Pentacles, we can see a tremendous shift. Whilst the poised figure in the 2 of Pentacles has ‘less’ than the forlorn figure in the 5, their perspective is completely different! The performer on the horse may be juggling her pentacles but she is doing so with elegance and grace. She has adopted an air of confidence and whilst she could topple off that horse in any given moment, she is in the moment, she is in “that” moment; and that moment is wonderful!
So, this Valentine’s Day, release what needs to be released. If you’re unsure of what that is, let your own reading reveal it to you. By shedding the old, clearing away what needs to be cleared, we then make space for what the cards are hinting at… the Ace of Cups, Justice and the 9 of Cups! A trinity of beauty.
Justice, speaks of the balance between head and heart. Feed the parrot—your mind— some seed (beautiful flower seeds) so it has no time to fill your mind with needless chatter (weeds)! Allow the song inside your heart to sing and be heard! Place your cup front and centre, pour into that cup, and that cup is you! You are the vessel, and watch it—yourself—bloom, and once your cup is full and blooming, you can share those blooms with others. For when you are blooming—you will give to others from a place of joy and abundance, not from exhaustion or obligation. What a difference that makes.
If you wish to do your own reading, set the mood, just as you would if you were romancing someone. Only this time you are romancing yourself! Light some pink or red candles. Buy some pink or red roses to have in a vase. Have some rose quartz crystals on hand. You could anoint yourself with rose essential oil, diluted of course! If you are looking to balance the feminine and masculine energies within you, you could add a drop of sandalwood essential oil as well.
If time allows, you could even set the mood for a luxurious bath using the above suggestions for your reading. Play some music, sink into the warm and soothing water. You could add rose petals to make it feel even more magical, and make yourself feel special! Afterwards massage your body with oil or your favourite lotion. Romance your body by whispering words of love to it! Continue to do this, not just on Valentine’s Day. Make regular date nights with yourself. Soon, the well of love within you will be overflowing.
